I do my chinese jian bao’s by reading english newspapers. All I do is to choose an article in english and one in mandarin (articles that are rather similar of course). Saves me a lot of time, since I take up to half an hour trying to read one column of a mandarin article. Ingenious isn’t it? My mom says im incorrigible. I call it creative.
Anyhoo, got the highest for my English essay and letter-writing. 45/60, Yay! (As you can see, modesty isn’t one of my strengths)
BUT.
Not before getting suaned by Mr Yoong. ‘Surprisingly, the person that got highest this time doesn’t usually get high marks.’
WTH.
Not to be obnoxious/disrespectful/haolian, but bear in mind that he was suaning someone who:
a) managed to score 26/30 for an essay (ok, so that was in sec1, but nevertheless, it’s no mean feat okay?)
b) is able to spell the word ‘violent’
c) does not pronounce the word ‘english’ as ‘ENGRISH’
He had to read out my composition to the whole class too. Now to say that he didn’t do justice to my essay is just a nice way of putting it. Don’t know why he even bothered since no one was listening to him.
Well….. either that or my classmates don’t understand the sentence:
Like it or not, clothes are here to stay. That is of course, unless we return to our primordial ways.
Vanessa must’ve been the only one
*note: the topic was ‘Dressing’. im not some kinda pervie who fantasises about people ‘returning to their primordial ways’.
Oh my, ive just gained a whole lot of bad karma dissing so many ppl =(((((((((
