Yum.

Ethereal, no? I am highly infatuated with this picture (((:

I'd originally typed out a whole post, but my computer crashed and i can't be bothered to retype everything so i shall end here.

ironic ain't it?

I'd want my money back if i were that guy.

Watched Narnia yesterday. It wasn't all that nice, just a load of special effects. I thought the lion seemed kinda mangy.
Went Orchard after that. Dragged my friend to Isetan -Scotts to look for a bag. Didn't find Mambo there though. I was sad. =(((
Decided to go to Ngee Ann City. The underground pass was so crowded. I've no idea why people were walking so slowly there when the only things of interest along those passageways were posters. Passed by Isetan in Wisma. Went in there in hopes of finding Mambo. Found it. Saw this really nice bag which was grey and had all these weird symbols. The salesgirl didn't bother about us one bit, but she was eyeing us out of the corner of her eye, cos she did respond when my friend and i waved the bag at her. On the way to the cashier, my friend suddenly said -is the gst included yet? Upon rapid and wrong mental calculation, i found out that i had enough money anyway. Good thing the $69 was the nett price, cos i only had $12 left.
Shall end here and go back to to cooing at my bag.
P.S. I am terribly infactuated with it's chrome-like zips.

Bah, just found out my new template didn't show on other people's computer's so I'm using this this old one.
Realised that I've a lot of homework undone. Oh dear. Then, I realised that I'll be going out with my primary school friend next tuesday. Oh well, I'll just have to do my homework more quickly then. Have to get a new bag too, my old one reeks of sweat. Eurghh. Shall get a Mambo bag, their designs are so nice and hardly anyone carries that brand. Can't stand having a Billabong bag that's similar to half the teenage population in Singapore. Of course, I'm hoping that there'll be post-Xmas, post-BoxingDay sales. heh.
My mom got me a Billabong pencil case cos I'd complained that my current pencil case was too small. Darn, wanted to get something unique. At least it's big in fact, it's around 33cm wide.

15th December

Went to the bus interchange to meet Clarrissa -who was as usual, late. Having to carry a heavy bag when you've an extremely heavy erhu cover is not a fun task.
Mr Chua came really really early so we didn't have much time to practice ZhanMa. Thank goodness he allowed me to play with Shiyun and Shihui. Got 26/40, think Shihui was disappointed or something. When we walking going down to watch the videos of certain songs, the three of us were busily taking the blame upon our own shoulders. Yes, we are odd people. But seriously, if I hadn't played with them they would've gotten a higher grade since having a pp in the group would mean playing better, but I wasn't much help at all. Think I kinda messed up their beat or something.
Watched Mo Li Hua in the AVA Room and realised that Clarrissa and I had played that song before in YewTee CC, just that it sounded...... rather different. In fact, it sounded more like a withered plant than a Jasmine. The video version was really nice though.
Lunch was horrible. I only enjoyed the potatoes.
The rest of the day was quite mundane. Practice, practice, practice. The games at night were stupid. Blindman's Trail was a really annoying. Talk about walking at the snail's pace, can you imagine walking from the basketball court, up and down in the sec1 block and all the way to the AVA room. We were left blindfolded in front of the AVA Room for quite sometime until I got annoyed and decided that we should go back to the CO room. Turned out that they didn't realise that they had missed left our group there. The next game was even worse. Scavenger hunt.
The first clue for my group was:

A place where Ms Tay says "Good morning colleagues, boys and girls."

Obviously it was at the parade square since we weren't allowed to use the hall.
While finding this clue, I learnt that Ms Tay addresses us whilst:
- seated amongst the branches of a pot of flowers
- hiding under a pot of flowers
- standing in an uncovered drain
- squished in between the planks of a bench in front of the D&T rooms
Gee, I know people always joke about Ms Tay being slim and all, but this is ridiculous.
Anyhoo, our very first clue was put in an envelope of the wrong colour. They didn't even bother to put a group number in front, so we spent eons searching for a clue which we had supposedly found a long time ago.
After that, they had this clue which was a math question, rather like the question I came up with during the previous Star Search. That proved to be another annoying hunt since we couldn’t find it and had to ask Junda for help again. In the end, Junda was the one helping us find our clues.
When we were at our 6th clue, we found out that a lot of groups had been sabotaged and their clues were missing so the game was called off. All that running around like imbeciles and sweating like pigs for nothing. What a waste of time.
Couldn't sleep until 12+ since WingSan kept striding in and out of the room repeatedly. Clarrissa got extremely annoyed and yelled at her to stop it. But she still kept on zooming in and out of the room anyway. Couldn't get to sleep cos the floor was really hard. When I finally managed to fall asleep, I suddenly woke up because someone had switched on the lights. Opened my eyes to see two figures standing at the door staring solemnly into the room. Was kinda freaked out cos I didn't have my glasses on, then I realised that it was Ms Lim ans Ms Toh who had caught Cixian sneaking out of the room. After that, managed to catch a few winks until I was awoken, yet again, cos Cixian needed to use the loo. Clarrissa must have a really comfortable sleeping bag, cos she managed to sleep through all that.

16th December

Woke up in a bad mood cos I only got 4 hours of sleep. Decided to go down for breakfast resort-style (in shorts and slippers). Another horrible round of food. The oil used to fry the noodles tasted like it had been used over and over again. By then, everyone was pretty desperate for coins so they could get a drink from the vending machine. Managed to borrow some from Clarrissa. Had Pepsi Light for breakfast even though I hate Pepsi. Proves how desperate I was for a sugar boost.
The sec3s were practising their own songs for the Internal Music Exchange later that day, and JiaHui came. Almost all of us had abit of coaching from him. Was sitting next to Shuqing so I got to hear him play SaiMa, and gosh, it was nice. His LiangXiao was also really nice. After that he played it with Zhiyin, and I was like –oh darn, that's so much better than mine.
Half and hour before the Internal Music Exchange, every strings member was pretty much freaking out, busily scrubbing their rosins against their bows, re-dotting, tuning their instruments, and what must be the first time they've ever done such a thing, cleaning the rosin away from their erhu's.
Wasn't really scared at the beginning of the Music Exchange, just slightly nervous. It was only until Natalie’s turn when Shuqing said that it was her turn next, did I start to feel fear. When it was my turn, I was really freaking out.
Went up to the seat trying to control my expression, hoping that I didn’t look too freaked out. I basically screwed up the whole song from the start cos I was so scared that my beat went awry. At the second bar, I knew that the whole song was messed up, but I didn't wanna restart so I carried on playing. The more I played, the more nervous I got, and my ying zhun was really not the least bit zhun at all. Especially the notes at the bottom of my erhu, they sounded disgusting. Only when I reached the part of the song which I really liked, did I calm down a little, but I was still terribly off-key.
After the song ended, I stood in front for a few seconds but none of the instructors said anything. Was wondering –did I do so badly that they had to take so long to think of an opinion? Rushed off to my seat and Mr Chua made fun of me for being so eager to sit down. Relaxed a bit after that, but I think I was quite rude cos I sat down on the floor while listening to their comments. The comments I got mostly about my beat and my ying zhun.Mr Yeo said that my erhu's ying she was good. Doesn't that mean that my erhu's good but I'm not? [O.o]
Clarrissa and Joozhi's comments were quite amusing though. They were described as playing really stiffly, almost like being forced to work. LOL. Clarrissa's expression looked really like she was being forced to play though. wahahas.
And gosh, Mr Poh used the word sheepish. I’ve never heard anyone use that word even though I've seen it before. Coolness.
A lot of people said I didn't looked afraid. In fact, I seemed to have this slightly annoyed look on my face. Clarrissa said I looked really frightened though. Gee, she knows me too well.

P.S to the whom this remark concerns: Yes, I shall try perfecting LiangXiao since I'll probably get crappy results for my L1R5, therefore I'll need it to get in a JC.

The POP wasn't really exciting, just lots of words. The Strings section were asked to return to the 3e2 classroom. Shiyun was asking me how to pronounce the word grotesque. And yes, I do know how to pronounce it -> grow-tesk. Then she started asking me what schizophrenia meant. And after that we started babbling about other ultra-cheemnologised English words. She said that my English was good. I gave her an incredulous look and directed her to Jason's blog. Anyhoo, found out that it was cos Mr Chua had ordered a log cake. It had all these cute little figurines on top. I mean gosh, there was even an axe! So nice of him, but I still think our log cake made of paper was better. wahahas.
After having cake, we went back to the co room. Everyone was in a pretty crabby mood since it was so late. Was hoping that Ms Lim would forget about the clean-up thingie, but no, she didn’t. Had to clear up all the trash in the canteen. You wouldn't believe how messily some people eat.
Couldn't really sleep for the whole night cos for some reason or another, my arm hurt like hell. Think it was rheumatism or something. Woke up one time and saw the trio of Xueli, Shanice and Wanxing huddled together at the tables. They had this freaked look on their faces and told me that they’d just heard someone knock on the door and it had flung open. Must have told each other too many ghost stories. I just gave them a bored look and huddled back under my sleeping back trying to keep my arm warm to lessen the pain.

17th December

Woke up in the morning to someone poking my arm. It was Joyce. How rude. She blabbered to me about how easy it was to open the door despite the fact that it was locked. That explains why the door had flung open the previous night. Found out that my arm didn't hurt anymore, so I was I a much better mood. Had noodles and a pathetic-looking few rolls of chee cheong fun for breakfast. Was in dire need of bread. I cannot function without eating bread for more than 1day. Found out that Clarrissa had food poisoning so she wasn't coming. Oh well, there goes my root beer.
Went to the CO room for full orchestra. The pain in my arm suddenl came back. Was assigned to sit next to BoonYun. Got really annoyed at her. She didn't look at my direction when I asked her if she was unclear about any parts of any song, and just continued gazing straight ahead. Now that was totally unlike her sprightly self when she was with her friends. While I was busily wondering if she had even heard me, she suddenly shook her head at the air in front of her. I was rather annoyed and the pain was eating at my brains, so I asked her to play Feng Nian Ji. Her melody was passable at it's best. Her plucking was rather weird. She placed her fingers at the position where the notes were on the outer string when we were obviously plucking the inner string. Does she think we’re playing a damn guitar? She didn't even know where some of the notes were. Decided to listen to her Tian Long Ba Bu cos I couldn't take listening to her Feng Nian Ji. I swear, blood almost spewed out of my mouth when I heard her Tian Long Ba Bu. Her beat was totally wrong. I really reek at counting beats, but hers was really fantastic. How she could count out such a beat truly amazed me. Until that point of time I was thinking –Hey, maybe she's just a slow learner. Then I asked her to play other parts of Tian Long, and it was so freaking obvious that she never seldom practices. Heck, she doesn't even know her scales. She doesn’t even know the difference between a La with a dot below, and one without. WingSan might be a pain when it comes to teaching scales, but she is really hardworking, she really goes home and practices her stuff. Now I truly understand why Shiyun felt so sad when she had to teach her. Honestly though, I don't care if she reads what I've just blogged, cos I really think that she’s got wake up. She can hate me and flame me for all I care, but hell, I'm speaking the truth.

18th December

Got dragged out of my house by my mom to look for new furniture. Went to this place called the Melandas or something and found out it had closed down. Well. Anyhoo my dad insisted on going to Castilla (or however you spell it). The furniture they had were definitely the most old-fashioned and un-artistic pieces of wood and leather i had ever seen. Even the stuff at Courts and Vhive were better. Went to Ikea, but the stuff there wasn't really stuff that would make you gasp and go -gosh, i want that in my house! Headed on to IMM and my mom found her perfect couch there. It was kinda olive-beige in colour and the seats were pinstriped. After taking measurements and all, my dad went to Harvey Norman to get a printer. Then we went to Giant. Met Calvin (the zhuonghu guy) who was working there there. He was wearing this extremely orange tee. Didn't really stop to chat though, his boss was there heh.

19th December

Had Chemistry aptitude test today. I overslept. Intended to wake up at 7.30, but woke up at 8.35. Stared at my alarm clock through bleary eyes and freaked out. The test was gonna start in half an out. Rushed out of my home without bathing or eating breakfast. Did last minute revision in the Mrt. Can you imagine trying to cram 3chapters into your brain between the stops Choa Chu Kang and Bukit Gombak? Ran into Fengling when I was walking to rushing to school. I was really not in the mood to smile and be nice, but Fenglin's usual toothy grin made me wave back anyway. Rushed to school and found out I was missing my calculator. Went to the staffroom to beg Mrs Chan for one but she wasn’t even in school yet. Decided that I'd just leave out the chemical calculation questions. When I reached, they made us wait 15minutes before starting the test. Was rather annoyed, cos I could've borrowed a calculator in that span of time. There were a few chemical calculations in the test, but they just required good skills in long division and trial and error (thing which I am okay in), so I didn't really freak out. What I did freak out, was at the last page when I didn’t know a single answer because I didn't memorise the damn chemical equations and raw materials for making sulphuric acid. So in the end, all my raw materials and equations turned out to be adding sulphuric acid to more sulphuric acid.
On the way home, I had a chat with Shiyun classmate. Funny how I can be so sociable with some people yet totally stand-offish with others. Hmm.

The light in my bathroom is faulty. At one moment, I’d be happily using the bathroom, and at the next moment the light bulb flickers and the room plunges into total darkness.
……so that’s what the manufacturers meant when they put the words energy-saving on the package of the bulb.

Due to a certain reason, Yongmei will not be able to play ZhanMa. That means I’ll probably have to solo.
Of course when I received her text message I panicked. My whole brain buzzed with activity and believe me, that doesn’t happen unless I’m doing math Started to panic and went into super-organising-mode, and I started clearing my table, thinking:

“Omg, wh..”
“AHHHHHHHHHHHHH”
“But h..”
“AHHHHHHHHHHHHH”
“Won’t th..”
“AHHHHHHHHHHHHH”
“What i..”
“AHHHHHHHHHHHHH”

After a few text messages, she assured me that I would have to solo.

Great.

Exactly what I need. Something to worry about when InternalMusicExchange is just this week and the damn Chemistry and Biology aptitude tests are next week and most importantly, ZhanMa is on Thursday.

This would really be the right time to use the word “Shit”.

I swear that if Yongmei’s having me on, I will smack her so hard she won’t even feel any pain.

Monday, December 5

Came back from Vanessa’s chalet the other day, lookin like I’d been in a brawl.
After goofing around on the seaweed-ridden beach, we decided to head on to old Changi Hospital (yes, the one which is supposedly haunted). We had to climb up some pretty steep steps. When we walked up to the top, we found that the guard wasn’t there. A few of them walked into the hospital but didn’t dare go further in. Lihui was plucky enough to mess around with this bashed-up-looking table hahaha. We decided to walk about the outside of the hospital. Chanced upon this bunch of teenagers, and there was this girl who was sorta hunched over unmoving. Some of us got pretty freaked out and decided to leave. As I was going down the stairs, I tripped and fell. Since the hill was sloping down, I slid down on my boobs extremely unglamourously. Must’ve seemed like a huge flying squirrel catapulting down. Talk about dramatic, but I could really hear the shrieks coming out from the people behind me as I slid down. When I thought I was about to stop, I started sliding down again. Miraculously, I stopped right behind Vanessa’s brother, who was scared stiff. He stood rooted in front of me with clenched fists. Wanted to get up, but my whole body couldn’t move at all. Had the wind knocked out of me, felt like I’d been rammed into by a bull. Gosh, it was scary lying there, not being able to move. Even though it was prolly less than five seconds, it seemed like I’d lain there for eternity. Finally managed to stumble up with help from Jasmine and Lihui. I was fine other than the numerous cuts and bruises and a deep gash on my leg. I’ve had really nasty falls, but this was by far, the worst. Was more worried about my Bermudas, which were covered in muck, ewww.
After that, we went back to the chalet and played cards, and everyone was kinda freaked from the incident. Found out that I my leg had gotten caught on this green wire. Couldn’t really concentrate when they were playing cluedo, I was in some kinda daze. Must be post-traumatic stress. A delayed one, hahaha.
After awhile, they started speculating why I had fallen down. They seemed more freaked than me even though I’d been the one to fall hahaha. During the night, a few people got injured and they got paranoid and started to think that all of them were going to get injured too. Was kinda like [O.o] but I didn’t say anything.
Shuffled to orchestra practice on the next day with bruises on both kneecaps (which I promptly christened “Twins”) while balancing my erhu on a sprained neck.

Havent's been able to blog for ages cos I'd forgotten my username. Bleagh-ness.

I’d like to thank:

Jacqueline
Jasmine
KahHwee
Lihui
Meryl
ShinYun
Si’en
Vanessa

For my birthday present. Especially Jasmine who was the one who picked out the childish- oh wait, I mean nostalgia-inducing, horsey pecil case.
Waiting for Clarrissa and Joyce to give me one too *taps foot impatiently*. No I’m just kidding, haven’t gotten them present either. Unthoughtful me.

Went to terrorise the computer geeks and lao ah peks with donation bags do CIP at SITEX on Thursday with Jasmine and Jacqueline. Gosh, it was like Moses parting the Red Sea (okays, so I’m exaggerating), people were avoiding us like the Plague. Got really annoyed with the people who pretended not to see us. I mean c’mon, will acknowledging our presence with a smile and a shake of your head kill you. How annoying. The computer geeks are stingy. It was the lao ah peks (okays, so they weren’t that old) who donated more. The highest amount donated went to Jasmine. The guy was pretty good-looking, in a geeky-i-wear-braces-and-sit-at-my-computer-all-day sorta way (what? it’s a computer exhibition). The pathsways were crowded with people who were so eager to stuff the flyers into our faces that we waved our bags around, threatening to direct our pleas for donations at them.

Teachers next year:
English: Ms Annie Tan
Chinese: ?? (doesn’t matter, not like I’ll pay attention anyway)
Biology: Mrs Koh
Chemistry: Ms Seah
Physics:Mr Lim
Social Studies & History(elective): Mdm Tang (contrary to popular belief, she’s nice)
Emath & Amath: Mrs Heng

OHMYGAWD *shrieks in horror*. As if Math weren’t boring enough, now Math lesson will be conducted in monotone. Oh man, Mrs Chan is so mean, ta bu yao wo men le! Thank goodness I didn’t get Mdm Sathiya, I can’t stand her.

I failed my Amath restest. Surprise, surprise. The passing mark was a B3 so that means I got 20+/60. GOOD. FRICKIN. GOSH. And I thought I’d scrape a C6. Mrs Chan seemed somewhat amused when I called her to ask my grade. How evil. Oh wells, shall comfort myself with the fact that out of the 7 people in my class, only 1 passed. Yes, I love making excuses.

Thank goodness I was too lazy to find a song online old-fashioned, and chose Liang Xiao for music exchange. Saved me the trouble of having to find a new song, cos Ms Lim didn’t allow us to play modern songs. Wanted to play A Diao of Chun, but Clarrissa pointed out to me that the words Chun, A Diao weren’t going to be very impressive on the vcd in fact, it would be downright stupid. Not very good at Liang Xiao. Can’t even find where some of the notes are, but at least it’s a relatively slow song so I won’t have to struggle like Saima. Shuqing is brave.
