Singapore Idol, Season 2.
Yes, it is once again time for me to bitch and criticise about the talent(or lack of) in Singapore Idol.
Was watching yesterday night's piana show, and i wasso very appalled by the standard's of this year's contestants. Didn't catch last weeks episode, but i don't think the girls were any better. They were all so bad. Bad singing, bad stage presence and most of all, bad PRONUNCIATION. If you haven't already noticed, bad pronunciation's one of my ultimate pet peeves. I mean c'mon, this is Singapore Idol, if you wanna sing with a chinese accent, you should've joined one of the Superstar competitions. Oh wait. Those cheena wannabes in this season's Idol must've been wannabes who got booted from Superstar and decided to try for Singapore Idol. What's more disgusting is that they actually got in. Now, don't get me wrong, i'm not embarrassed of being a chinese, but i really think us viewers should be spared the agony of having to listen to a horribly mispronounced version of 'This Love'(throw in a cheena lilt too). Likewise, we shouldn't allow people like me who can't even speak mandarin without sounding weird to all then Superstar competitions.
Now back to mispronounced words. I really cannot stand it when people pronounce feel as few, like that how the guy from the music school did last night. And goodness me, but his actions were so robotic
And, i've no idea what people find appealing in that guy who sang 'Geek in the Pink'. I mean seriously, his dance moves were not slick
Then, there are the poseurs. I thought that tengku(or however you spell it) guy was pretty presentable ......until he opened his mouth -he just made my hair stand on ends(in a bad way). And excuse me for saying this, but the eyeliner kinda reminds me a Taufik, no?
Bottomline is, i still like Paul Twohill best. HAHA.
Ps: I won't bother to argue with vanessa cos taylor hicks is already THE american idol. bahahaha. i must sound obnoxious. *smilesmilesmile.
