Had this speech by two sec4's about the O' level oral examination during assembly.
Passage reading was kinda boring (isn't it always?) so i wasn't really listening, though the girl's (shu lin is it? i dunno) pronounciation was nice.
Then came Thomas Kwang (who wouldn't know him? /=) doing the picture discussion. Was bombarded with ultra-cheemnologised words like 'cameraderie' and 'paraplegic' he even hao-lianed a bit and used the word 'quasi-paraplegic', while us people with small minds use simple words like 'chemistry' and 'partially disabled', or even 'bai ka' (lame/spastic). Bet hardly anyone in the hall understood what he was talking about, could see the blank looks.
The speech by shu lin was really dramatic, really interesting but there were people who kept hooting whenever she drama-ed the animals behaviour, how irritating.
Was playing with Yongmei's erhu when i realised that...
My erhu is so damn soft.
I've no idea why, maybe it's not seasoned or something but the volume is really pathetic. The new bow i've got makes it worse. Bleagh.
Anyhoo, i used to like full orchestra, but now it just seems oh-so tedious. It's annoying having to wait for everyone to settle down between parts of songs. Everybody seems to be treating the practices as time for socialising, chittering away when the conductor is asking other sections to play, taking ages to quieten down before we play. And the percussion seem to have problem organising themselves. There's always either that missing clash of the cymbals, the kwaang of the gong reverbrating through the room or some other instrument. So we have to start over and over again just because of that one missing part. They must have weak bladders too because i seem to see some of them slinking in and out of the door regularly.
A certain member there really has an attitude problem. The conductor is speaking to you and there you are, talking to someone else or living in your own little world, completely oblivious that he's speaking to you. Seriously, you're the only one holding on to that instrument, of course he's referring to you. And even if you do look at him, it's with that kaopei look. Maybe you don't mean to give him that look, i don't know, but even i get pissed of looking at you. And i'm not even the conductor. Seriously, it's not as if you play so well, you're in percussion and you can't even count your beats properly.
So have a guess, who am i referring to? (((((((((=
