This reeks.
Ohmygoodness, I hope I haven't gotten myself into English remedial. Ms Annie Tan asked me to name verbs(or whatever they're called) in the form of past tense form, present tense form, past participle and present participle. I couldn't answer it on Monday. She then asked me again on tuesday and being the butterbrain that I was, I promptly my brain of the contents of yesterday's lessons when i reached home yesterday night. Ya la, of course cannot answer -not by myself anyway. So there I sat on my seat, repeating answers from the people around me. She is of course neither deaf nor blind, and casually made a remark about attending extra remedial on Monday evening. I really really hope she was kidding. I think I shall die with an incredulous look on my face if I'm forced to attend English remedial. I've been living the past 15years of my life without the knowledge of verbs, nouns, and whatnot and my English is passable lor. Bah. What nonsense.
Mother Tongue lessons are a waste of time. Cheng lao shi spends at least 15minutes every lesson, shouting, threatening and collecting homework from the 4e4 students. Now I'm not saying that's bad in anyway since I get my much needed rest during these intervals, but it's really...inefficient. We are always left with only 40minutes to complete our essays, and for a person(me) that has difficulty in phrasing the sentences and writing the write word, it's like asking me to
Mdm Tang had an accident and has been rewarded with a crack on her spine. OW. I really wouldn't wish that on anyone. Not that I'm one of those anti-mdm tang yahoos, but still. You get what I mean.
Was reading this article in the newspaper about choosing between polytechnics and jcs.
Sure, the number of people who are studying in polys and getting to universities are increasing.
Sure, people from polys graduate with a degree from university in a shorter amount of time.
Sure, and increasing number of people are opting to enter a poly even though they qualify for a jc.
The sad fact remains, that many will be prejudiced against these individuals and think that they are the students who "Didn't make it", or are "Not quite as good".
What a sad, stereotypical world we live in.
